Acne seems to be a malady that millions have experienced at one time or another. There seems to be an abundance of acne skin care tips available out there offering help for this embarassing and disfiguring malady. Since each case is different, there is no one cure-all. You can find many avenues of advice weather it be from friends, the internet, reading, or someone who has had acne.
The problem is that some acne skin care tips seem so contradictory, so how can you possibly determine which of these tips are truly accurate and which are misleading? The fact is that a number of acne skin care tips will work for some people but will not necessarily work for everyone. Thus, the ideal way to figure out which tips are going to work for you is simply for you to try them. Still, some acne skin care tips should be followed by all individuals who have this condition.
There are literally hundreds of different acne products available on the market. Some of them require a prescription but most are available over the counter. Some of these products are very effective. However, the only two topical products you really need to combat the problem of acne are a gentle nonabrasive cleanser and an oil- free moisturizer that does not clog your pores. Ignore acne skin care tips that recommend highly expensive products and instead focus on keeping your skin clean and hydrated.
Acne skin care tips that warn not to squeeze pimples or touch them too often should be taken seriously. When you squeeze a pimple you increase the chance of it leaving an unsightly scar and you contaminate it with bacteria from your fingers. Keep your fingers away from your face whenever possible, and when you do touch it make sure your hands are clean first.
Some acne skin care tips suggest that it isn’t a good idea to wear make-up to cover your pimples because it will clog your pores. While there is some truth to this advice there are exceptions. You will not exacerbate your acne problem if you stick to using makeup that is made of natural minerals.
Let’s face it, if you eat stuff thats bad for you, your skin is going to look horrible. The most important acne skin care tip is to be careful of what exactly you are eating. If you want your face to look good, be careful of what you eat. Eat lots of antioxidat rich stuff like vegetables and fruits, and consume plenty of water.
Reduce your intake of sugar, fat, caffeine, high fructose corn syrup and alcohol. Avoid nicotine and illegal drugs, exercise regularly and make sure you get enough sleep. If you make a serious effort to follow the acne skin care tips outlined in this article your complexion will look better in the long run and pimples should soon become a thing of the past.
